Russian developers have sharply reduced the launch of new construction projects to the market. Kommersant newspaper reports this, citing a study conducted by Dom.RF.
Thus, the share of companies that reduced new project entry into the market in October reached the highest value since the beginning of 2023 with 33%. Developers believe this trend will continue for a long time. The main reasons are said to be the decrease in the availability of development sites and the Bank of Russia’s increase in the down payment rate to 20%.
It is noteworthy that previously the majority of developers considered the main obstacle to new construction to be a significant increase in the price of building materials. Now the rise in construction material prices has almost stopped. Therefore, it is considered that the main reason for the decrease in the number of new projects today is the worsening conditions for purchasing development areas.
