The Russian Ministry of Agriculture proposes to introduce quotas for the import of potato seeds, sugar beets, sunflowers and some other agricultural products into the country. The relevant initiative was published at: internet portal To prepare draft regulatory legal acts.

The draft government decree states that the quotas are planned to be implemented between January 23 and December 31, 2024.

As stated in the explanatory note, restrictions will include potatoes, wheat, rye, maize, soybeans, sunflowers, sugar beets, barley and rapeseed.

The volume of agricultural quotas and the list of countries exempt from them have not yet been determined.
