The Polish Sejm decided to freeze electricity prices for six months in 2024. This was reported by RIA News.
Maximum electricity prices for households will be 412 zlotys (about $103) per MWh for consumption levels within the set limit, and this will vary depending on the type of household and the availability of subsidies.
Above the set limit, Polish electricity consumers will have to pay 693 zlotys (about $172) per MWh. These prices were determined for public services and local governments.
The Polish Sejm allocated $4.14 billion for the implementation of the program.
The law also needs to pass the Polish Senate.
Moldova had previously assessed the risks of a winter energy crisis.
