Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev said that Russia lost 76 passenger planes due to sanctions on the aviation sector. This was reported by RIA News.

“We were unexpectedly caught off guard by the decisions to purchase the planes,” the Transport Ministry head added.

According to the explanatory note, the amendments to the law aim to ensure the uninterrupted operation of civil aviation under sanctions, as well as to protect the fleet of foreign aircraft owned by Russian companies.
