Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, fishermen from Japan said that the waters around the Kuril Islands may be occupied by fishing organizations from the Russian Federation. This has been reported TASS.

Prior to this, Japanese fishermen caught catch under a suspended intergovernmental agreement.

“We have a certain shortfall in regions where it is possible to fish and obtain seafood efficiently. So there is competition here, I am sure our Russian fishing companies will come here,” added Trutnev.

According to the politician, the deficit may appear, among other things, due to the program of “quotas for investment”.

As Trutnev explains, it can be observed how some organizations are now giving up their fields of activity and selling.

“Fixed assets and mineral deposits – they will not be taken from Russia,” Trutnev said.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to organize a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to run the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
