“Thousands of trucks are waiting in queues on both sides of the border. Given the current conditions, the flow of products to blocked directions, especially from Europe, has decreased significantly, which leads to additional costs for both Ukrainian and European producers,” Oleg Khomenko, general director of the Ukrainian Agricultural Business Club, told RBC. -Ukrainian agency.
Khomenko explained that Polish meat, dairy and egg producers were previously widely represented in Ukraine. Increasing transportation costs lead to higher prices of these goods in the consumer sector.
At the same time, Ukrainian manufacturers exporting to Poland and European countries are also suffering from the border blockade.
