“According to our forecasts, we will exceed the $200 billion level by the end of the year, which is planned to be reached only in 2024,” Belousov said.
The official also claimed that by the end of the decade, total trade exchanges between the two countries will exceed $300 billion.
“Since the beginning of 2023, bilateral trade turnover has increased by a third. In his speech at the bilateral intergovernmental commission on investment cooperation, Belousov stated that there is a visible progress in trade in metallurgy, chemicals, food, equipment and vehicles.
Chinese customs officials reported that trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 29.5% to $176.4 billion in the first nine months of 2023.
