The legal process regarding the claim of Rosneft company, which requested compensation from Transneft company due to the dirty oil incident, has been terminated. This decision was made by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. RIA News with reference to the file of arbitration cases.
As stated in the material, we are talking about an incident on the Druzhba pipeline. In April 2019, experts discovered that contaminated fuel containing high amounts of chloride was supplied from the Russian Federation to other countries through a pipeline. As a result, oil exports had to be stopped.
According to the agency, in December 2023, the Moscow Arbitration Court completely rejected Rosneft’s claim against Transneft. But the first company filed a complaint with the appeals court, which heard the case behind closed doors.
The final court decision was never published. However, according to official information, legal proceedings regarding this claim have now been stopped.
Court materials emphasize that Rosneft filed a petition with the court in October. The document concerned the company’s complete or partial rejection of the request.
At the same time, in general, Rosneft planned to buy back about 11.9 billion rubles from Transneft at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation as of May 2022. That’s when the organization filed its first lawsuit.
