The study analyzed chocolate, confectionery and confectionery sales at more than 65,000 retail outlets across the country in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2022.
“Russians began to eat more sweets; compared to last year, demand for sweets increased in all three product categories,” analysts say.
In particular, they started to buy sweets 25% more frequently, chocolate 14% more frequently and candies 3% more frequently.
In addition, the price of candies fell by an average of 13% to 36 rubles, the price of chocolate increased by 1% (to 73 rubles), and the price of sweets was 144 rubles, the same as the previous year.
