Within a year, the percentage of people trying to pay with QR increased from 60% to 85%; this method is still three times less popular as a permanent method than paying by plastic card. This is evidenced by a study conducted by Delobank, which is at the disposal of the editorial office of socialbites.ca.
According to the research, 15 percent of the participants have not tried this method yet. Experts listed five main reasons that prevent people from paying using a QR code: 40% do not know how to do this, 36% stated that they were not offered this payment method, 11% – poor internet, 9% – 4% of those whose code is not adequately read by the camera continue to use old push-button phones.
At the same time, almost two-thirds of those who tried QR payments offered this payment method to merchants. Another 31% agree to pay via QR if the seller offers it.
