Difficulties in importing foreign raw materials are forcing ice cream manufacturers in Russia to change recipes and look for new suppliers. Reported by the radio Kommersant FM.

The Ice Cream Workers Union told the publication that the prices of products in stores have increased by 15% during the year, as producers prepare for the new summer season, usually from the end of the last summer season. However, some of the foreign raw materials had to be purchased in the spring.

“Everything we had in stock was slowly depleted, we had to change some products, we removed some positions from the assortment because there was nowhere to buy the materials. Of course, the price of everything has increased by more than 30-40%, ”explained Ksenia Vyshmakova, head of the marketing department of Icecro.

According to him, lactose-free products based on coconut milk, which the manufacturer ordered in Thailand, “stopped” at the port. The company had to buy what was left in warehouses from suppliers in Russia.

Natalya Utkina, Deputy General Manager of the Ice Cream Association, announced that the production cost increased by 20-30% on average. For example, cardboard packaging and sugar prices have almost doubled. He added that there are also problems with spare parts of imported equipment.

Earlier, the newspaper Izvestia, citing a source in one of the largest companies in the market, reported that milk and juice producers in the near future can cut December.
