Russia became the record holder in the number of restrictions imposed on it, and therefore the year 2023 was marked with “sanctions from hell”. The country’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk stated this in his speech at the opening session of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona. RIA News.

As the Deputy Head of Government stated, last year the forum was held in Baku. However, this time it is being held in Samarkand, that is, further and further away from the territory of the European Union (EU).

“This whole year has passed under the sign of sanctions from hell aimed at destroying the Russian economy. Overchuk emphasized that our country has become a world record holder in sanctions.

According to him, Moscow has far surpassed Tehran and Pyongyang in terms of the number of restrictions. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister ironically suggested that Iran and North Korea are now jealous of Russia.

However, a representative of the Council of Ministers announced that the increase in sanctions imposed on Moscow no longer matters. He said that in conditions of constant external pressure, the Russian economy has learned to live and develop independently.

Overchuk particularly cited achievements in the field of aircraft manufacturing as an example. He noted that the country is currently installing imported engine replacement for MS-21 passenger aircraft.
