According to the law, LNG export from fields located fully or partially north of the 67th parallel is allowed for companies with a state share of over 50%. This applies to 36 Rosneft fields in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets regions.
The law will also allow NOVATEK’s subsidiaries to export LNG without being tied to certain areas. Previously, only Yamal LNG and Arctic LNG 1-3 projects received this right. Now Murmansk LNG and Cryogas-Vysotsk will be able to use it.
According to officials, the innovations will make it possible to monetize gas reserves in hard-to-reach regions and increase LNG exports.
