Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told the plenary session of the State Duma that certification of the PD-8 engine for Superjet aircraft can be carried out in the near future. This was reported by TASS.
According to Siluanov, engine tests are currently being completed.
“First of all, I would like to point out that new engines must be created for our aircraft. This is a PD-8 for Superjet; We are already completing the tests, this engine should be certified in the near future,” the minister explained.
He added that 175 billion rubles will be allocated from the budget for aircraft production in 2024. Part of the funds will also be transferred to PD-21 engines for MS-14 and PD-35 engines for wide-body aircraft.
