Scammers can take advantage of the emergence of new banknotes worth 1,000 and 5,000 rubles to deceive citizens. In a radio interview about this Sputnik The curator of the “Moshetovka” project warned Alla Khrapunova.
According to him, attackers can start calling people on behalf of social services or the Central Bank, persuading them to urgently replace old banknotes with new ones, otherwise they will allegedly “exhaust”. Scammers also take advantage of the wary attitude of older people towards unfamiliar bills, offering to exchange them for familiar small bills at ATMs.
Khrapunova emphasized that there is no need to urgently change currency: old banknotes will be in circulation simultaneously with new ones. Citizens should not fall for the tricks of fraudsters and rush to exchange money.
