Total debt in Ukraine’s electricity market has reached 60 billion hryvnias (over $1.6 billion), said Vladimir Kudrytsky, head of energy company Ukrenergo. His words were quoted by the company’s press service.
“We owe it to market participants in the electricity transmission, system distribution and balancing market. Therefore, we cannot pay our obligations in full,” Kudritsky said.
He noted that the National Commission, which carries out state regulations in the fields of energy and utilities (NEURC), has already received calculations for electricity tariffs in 2024.
“We expect a confirmed decision from the National Energy and Energy Regulatory Regulatory Commission by the end of the year, which will allow us to preserve our liquidity,” the Ukrenergo president added.
