Two FSB officers in the Samara region will go to trial over bribes received from a local businessman TASS Referring to the Central District Military Court.
The FSB’s own security service officers, Captain Ivan Gudkov and Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail Gorbunov, are under investigation.
“The court received materials from the criminal case of MV. Gorbunov and IN Gudkova. The date of the meeting has not been determined yet,” the message reads.
The court announced that Lieutenant Colonel Gorbunov was charged with three separate crimes. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking bribes), as well as two parts of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official powers). His colleague, Captain Gudkov, was accused of accepting a bribe on a particularly large scale, as well as three counts of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (mediation in bribery).
FSB officers accepted bribes from Samara businessman Maxim Zhdanov in exchange for assistance in resolving problems with the police. A criminal case was also filed against him for paying bribes.
Not all of the defendants admit their guilt.
