The Central Bank of the Russian Federation approved the list of 13 systemically important credit institutions for 2023. It included the same banks that had achieved this status in the previous two years. In this respect reported on the organizer’s website.
According to the Central Bank, the list includes Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Otkritie, Rosselkhozbank, Promsvyazbank, Alfa-Bank, MKB, Sovcombank, Tinkoff Bank, UniCredit Bank, Raiffeisenbank and Rosbank. These 13 banks account for approximately 78% of the assets of the entire Russian banking sector. Systemically important organizations play an important role in maintaining the stability of the Russian banking system.
The regulator last expanded the list in 2021 by adding Tinkoff Bank. The Central Bank plans to clarify the criteria for classifying banks as systemically important.
