Employees of Walgreens, one of the largest pharmacy chains in the United States, will go on strike from October 9 to October 11. This was reported by CNN referring to one of the strike organizers.
According to the TV channel, pharmacists, laboratory assistants and support staff of the pharmacy chain will participate in the strike. Some plan to strike for only one day, while others plan to strike for three days. Employees of more than 500 pharmacies showed interest in joining the strike.
It was noted that the reason for the strike was difficult working conditions, shortening the training hours of new laboratory technicians, and “heavy” expectations regarding vaccination and drug prescriptions.
Before that, Politico newspaper WroteIt was stated that approximately 75 thousand healthcare workers in the USA went on strike due to low wages.
The striking healthcare workers work for Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest insurance companies and healthcare system operators.
