Since the beginning of 2023, 16 new foreign brands have appeared in Russia, writes RBC citing a study by consulting firm NF Group.
According to NF Group, this number has become a record for the last four years. 26 new brands emerged in the country in 2019, 13 in 2020, 15 in 2021 and only 11 in 2022.
It is stated that mainly Turkish clothing and shoe brands entered the Russian market.
The company noted that as of the end of the first quarter of 2022, 23 foreign companies announced their withdrawal from the Russian market. Another 34 companies rebranded and transferred their businesses to other market participants.
