The price of the most popular Cristaline water in France will rise 10% for the first time in 20 years

France’s most popular brand of drinking water, Cristaline, will raise its price by 10% for the first time in 20 years. About informs TV channel BFM.

According to consumption expert Olivier Dover, the price of drinking water will increase in the near future. The price increase will be 10%. Now a pack of six 1.5 liter bottles of Cristaline costs around €1.

The last time Cristaline’s rise was in 2002, when the French currency was converted to the euro. Then the price did not change. This was possible due to the increased efficiency of the factories and the water production resources. However, with the increase in oil prices, the price of plastic increased by 39%. The TV channel noted that transportation costs have also increased.

BFM calculated that at least seven packages of Cristaline water are sold per second in France.

At the end of May in 24 regions due to heat and drought in France announced Special rules for freshwater use. These departments are mainly located in the west and south of the country. Filling pools with water, washing cars and, in some cases, watering gardens are prohibited.
