Businessman Ziyavudin Magomedov, who was sentenced to 19 years in prison in a maximum security colony, filed a lawsuit in the High Court of London to recover approximately $14 billion of his shares in port operators. This was reported by Reuters.

It was noted that the case was opened on July 20. The defendants included Transneft, investment company TPG and port operator DP World.

According to the businessman, the companies entered into a conspiracy to buy his shares in shipping company FESCO, valued at $8.8 billion.

TPG said all the allegations were false and that the company would defend itself against the accusations.

Before that, the Moscow Arbitration Court accepted decision to recover more than 80.1 billion rubles from convicted businessman, chairman of the Summa group Ziyavudin Magomedov and three foreign companies. Approximately $13.8 million in damages, claimed Far Eastern Shipping Company, the parent company of the FESCO group.

On December 1, 2022, the Moscow Meshchansky Court sentenced Ziyavudin Magomedov to 19 years in prison in the case of creating a criminal community and embezzlement of 11 billion rubles. He was sentenced to a maximum security colony. Magomedov was also fined 2.5 million rubles. His brother, the former senator and former co-owner of the Magomed Magomedov enterprise, was also sentenced to prison. An 18-year prison sentence was chosen for him. A similar punishment was given to Magomed.
