Hungary expressed regret over Bulgaria’s decision not to extend the ban on grain imports from Ukraine, which harmed farmers in Central European countries. In an interview with the magazine on this subject vilag gasdown said Istvan Nagy, head of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture.
“I also regret that the Bulgarians decided this week not to extend the ban on imports from Ukraine,” he said.
Nagy noted that farmers in countries affected by Ukraine’s littering are faced with ensuring the safety of storing and marketing crops after harvest. In his opinion, this is the most serious problem.
The minister also added that thanks to the introduction of import restrictions, the Hungarian grain market “avoided a complete collapse, storage capacity was not filled and domestic demand remained intact.”
