The Central Bank of the Russian Federation allowed credit institutions to sell cash dollars and euros to citizens without any restrictions on the time of receipt at the box office. It has been reported Press release regulator.
It is not stated that credit institutions can only sell the money received by the cashiers after April 9, 2022 to the citizens. Such information was present in the previous press release on the expansion of restrictions on withdrawal of cash from accounts.
Earlier on the same day, the Central Bank of Russia elongated Restrictions on withdrawal of cash and foreign currency until March 9, 2024.
Prior to that, the Bank of Russia website published its Review of Key Indicators of Professional Securities Market Participants, according to which Russians sharply reduced their foreign exchange purchases in the second quarter of 2023. According to the Central Bank, citizens’ net foreign exchange purchase volume stood at ₽62 billion in the first quarter, compared to ₽256 billion.
Previously, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation harshly raised up to 12% key rate in an unscheduled meeting.
