Ankara considers chance to maintain previous grain deal with Russia 16:29

A source in Ankara’s political circles said that the chances of returning the grain deal to the previous format may be extremely low, according to the results of the talks between the Presidents of Turkey and Russia, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin. This has been reported TASS.

“During negotiations between Erdogan and Putin, the chances of really reaching agreement on reviving the previous grain deal are very slim. The issue will of course be discussed, but it is not worth waiting for agreements,” the source said.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the positions of the UN, the USA and the Russian Federation do not allow solving the problem with the possibility of a grain agreement.

“And Turkey’s mediation efforts will not be of any use here,” he added.

Moscow is said to have made it clear on several occasions that it “expects” it to continue to accede to the agreement.
