Now, the vast majority of tanker liability insurance contracts go through the International Mutual Insurance Clubs Group, which combines about two dozen insurance associations. It must comply with EU legislation.
“This could raise energy prices, as the new restrictions will lead to disruptions in hydrocarbon supplies worldwide from Russia,” said Potavin.
