“Natural gas transit from Russia to Moldova and Europe may be terminated and the contract may not be extended until the end of 2024. We now use a lower tariff for the electricity we get from the Kuchurgan power plant,” he said.
According to the diplomat, if the gas transit agreement is not extended, this will affect the Moldovan state.
“The Ministry of Energy is analyzing various scenarios and I am confident that it will provide both gas and electricity to Moldova,” he continued.
As Kiver noted, the Ukrainian side is waiting for the termination of contracts between Gazprom concern and operators of other countries.
