According to the information in the newspaperNews”, Yana Lantratova, First Deputy Chairman of the Education Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, proposed the introduction of a loan amnesty for families with children.
According to the parliamentarian, as of May 1, 2023, Russian debt to banks reached 30.22 trillion rubles. The debt level of the citizens increased from 35 percent to 41 percent compared to the beginning of the year. According to the deputy, this led to inflation and stagnation of real incomes, which weakened the financial situation of the Russians.
Lantratova noted that more than 80% of Russia’s poor citizens are families with children.
In this context, the deputy proposing a one-time loan amnesty for families with children in order to reduce the debt burden, said, “This category of citizens in this situation requires increased state support measures. In this regard, it seems appropriate to introduce a one-time loan amnesty to families with children in order to alleviate the debt burden.”
Previously in the State Duma suggested prohibiting the granting of loans to foreign agents.
