Artem Kiryanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, told the newspaper: “News”that foreign research companies studying commodity markets can be included in the list of organizations whose activities on the territory of the Russian Federation are not wanted. This proposal was included in the draft amendment to the law “On the Fundamentals of State Regulation of Business Activities of the Russian Federation”.
According to Kiryanov, structures created by such companies to circumvent Russian law will receive the status of foreign agents. The deputy noted that in the context of open information and economic conflict with Western countries, it is important to eliminate the threats of uncontrolled data collection of Russian citizens.
“We need analytics that we will independently process in our region,” said the deputy chairman of the State Duma committee.
Kiryanov stated that foreign research companies are already consulting with leading lawyers in Russia and abroad. According to him, they are currently looking for a loophole in the future law. These include Nielsen, GFK, IQVIA and IPSOS and other well-known consultants.
