According to the results for July this year, payment for goods and services through the account linking service accounted for approximately 30% of the total volume of payments made through the Fast Payment System (FPS). This is indicated in a study by Post Bank, received by the editors of socialbites.ca.
“Since the beginning of the year, the share of automatic payments made via SBP has increased 10 times, and the total amount of transactions using this service has increased 14 times. Often, with the help of direct payments through SBP, customers pay for marketplaces, streaming services, taxi services, ridesharing, and grocery delivery. The average check for such payments in July amounted to 1,022 rubles.
With the help of the service, the buyer himself can connect a bank account for automatic payment for goods and services through SBP, determine the required amount, date and regularity of the borrowed money. To set up direct debit, you need to go to the website or app of the company you plan to buy from and choose to pay via SBP. Also, by clicking on the link, the client is redirected to the mobile bank, pays and can save the data for subsequent payments. When purchasing again, the user chooses to pay with SBP and the money is debited from the selected account without entering the banking application. No commission is charged for such payments under SBP. You can close the debts at any time in the bank application.
Post Bank conducted a study based on data from customers’ transactions in August.
