The US put Alfa-Bank founder Mikhail Fridman and another major Alfa-Bank shareholder Petr Aven on the sanctions list. This was reported on the website of the U.S. Office of Foreign Asset Control.
Petr Aven is a citizen of Luxembourg, Russia and Latvia and lives in London. Mikhail Fridman was born in the city of Lvov in western Ukraine and holds Israeli and Russian citizenship.
In addition to these, another co-founder of the Alfa Group investment consortium, Aleksey Kuzmichev, living in France, and the Russian Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union (RSPP), a legal entity, were included in the sanction lists.
