“Moscow Anglo-American School” license declared invalid

The license for educational activities of the “Moscow Anglo-American School” (the organization is included in the list of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice) was declared invalid. This is proven by data license registration Rosobrnadzor

As of 13 July, the establishment license given by the Metropolitan Education and Science Department on 17 May 2021 was invalidated with the instruction dated 12 July 2023.

In April, the Tushinsky District Court of Moscow suspended 90-day work of the Anglo-American School. According to the press service, the reason for the suspension of work was the lack of a license. The school was supervised by the prosecutor’s office and the Moscow Ministry of Education and Science. It was also found that 15 teachers of the school, most of them foreign, received diplomas abroad, but did not approve their diplomas in Russia.

School principal Magomed Bashirov disagreed with the prosecution’s allegations, saying that the school administration had taken steps to comply with the license requirements.

The Moscow Anglo-American School has been operating since 1949. There, children can study from kindergarten to 12th grade. Mostly the children of American, British and Canadian diplomats study there. Currently there are 1200 students in the school.

Previously in the State Duma suggested prohibits lending to foreign agents.
