For the vast majority of Russians – 81% – daily payments from the employer on business trips are enough only for food. This is due to a survey conducted by “Aviasales for Business” travel services and a search for Superjob employees. Research data is available from socialbites.ca.
When asked if they have extra money after business trips, one-third of respondents answered “yes” and “sometimes it happens”. The interviewees also reported that “they do not have enough subsistence for anything”. 6% of the respondents gave this answer.
62% of respondents are dissatisfied with the daily allowance. In 2020 there were 70% of them. The optimal daily allowance for a trip across Russia, according to survey respondents, is from 1,500 to 2,000 rubles. This is two to three times more than actual payouts. According to research, employees are paid 500-1000 rubles per day for internal business trips. For trips abroad, the employer usually pays 2,000-3,000 rubles per day, and employees expect an amount of more than 3,000 rubles.
According to SuperJob statistics, the market share of open positions with business travelers was 1.6% in 2023. Most offers that include business trips are in the following sectors: industry and manufacturing (3.5%), construction and design (3%), information technology (1.9%).
The survey was conducted in June. As part of the study, 36,000 Aviasales for Business client companies were interviewed and 512,000 open positions posted on SuperJob were analyzed. The survey implied multiple response options.
