Patrick Pouyanne, president of French energy company TotalEnergies, believes European countries could face gas shortages this winter. The businessman pointed this out while speaking at the Aix-en-Provence Economic Meetings forum, the TV channel reported. CHNews.

The gas tanks will fill up in October, but Pouyanne said if the winter is cold in Europe, there won’t be enough stock to meet demand during the winter season.

Pouyanne noted that in this case natural gas would have to be purchased at higher prices. She emphasized that “friendly prices” cannot exist in a market where everything depends on supply and demand.
