Air Moldova cancels all flights until 31 July

State Moldovan airline Air Moldova knowledgeable on the website to extend the cancellation of all flights until 31 July due to financial problems. The carrier announced that passengers will receive email notifications with the option to return and repurchase tickets.

The company noted that they are currently busy processing passenger ticket compensation claims.

“Those who buy flight tickets online will receive money on the card on which the ticket is paid. Passengers who purchased tickets through the agency can receive refunds in cash or by card once the company resumes its commercial and operational activities.

The airline’s flights were expected to resume from June 30. According to the estimates of the Moldovan civil aviation authority, approximately 30 thousand passengers suffered from cancellations.

Air Moldova started canceling some flights from March 2. Representatives of the airline attributed this to operational and financial problems. The carrier’s press service noted that the actions of the company’s managers to pull Air Moldova out of the crisis have not yet produced positive results. As a result of its decision to pay compensation for canceled flights, the Moldovan Civil Aviation Authority conducted an unscheduled inspection of the carrier. Air Moldova applied to the court for permission to restructure. Thus, the carrier would attract investors.
