Mexico shows interest in fertilizers from Russia

Mexico is interested in increasing the volume of Russian fertilizer and steel shipments. In an interview with RIA Novosti about this declaration Eduardo Villegas Mejias, the country’s Ambassador to Moscow.

According to him, Mexico City needs fertilizer for the development of agriculture, and the local government allocates significant amounts for them.

The ambassador noted that the Russian fertilizer supply to the country was previously done through intermediaries. Mejias stated that with the support of the leadership of the Mexican authorities, they want to evaluate the possibility of large purchases from Russia.

According to a message on the website of the Russian embassy in Mexico, citing data from the Russian Federal Customs Service, trade turnover between Mexico City and Moscow last year amounted to about $3.8 billion.
