The bill submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation by deputies from the LDPR group aims to double the maximum permissible income of self-employed – from 2.4 million rubles per year to 4.8 million rubles. This was reported to him by the deputy head of the faction, Yaroslav Nilov. telegraph channel.
The draft law proposes to amend article 4 of the federal law “On Occupational Income Tax” “On Conducting a Trial to Establish a Special Tax Regime”. Currently, persons whose income does not exceed 2.4 million rubles per year have the right to apply a special tax regime. However, the fact that the maximum income of self-employed workers has not changed since 1 January 2019 limits the spread of this regime among individuals who provide various services to citizens and do business.
Due to the rising prices of goods and services since 2020, many self-employed people have exceeded the set income limit, so they try to hide their income to protect the right to apply for a special tax regime.
The aim of the proposed bill is to increase this threshold to 4.8 million rubles. This will reduce the number of shadow transactions used by the self-employed, increase the number of self-employed in the country, and ultimately increase tax revenues to the budget.
