Russia warns of possible increase in the cost of foreign tourism next winter

The ongoing weakening of the ruble against major world currencies, including the dollar and euro, which is currently observed, may cause tour operators to overhaul the costs of international air tours. Threatened by rising prices, there will be foreign tours that primarily involve air travel. Due to the increase in prices, it will be noticeably harder for a large audience to book such excursions. However, he said it is unlikely that the depreciation of the ruble will lead to a complete blockade of foreign tourism.

“All this (the depreciation of the ruble – about socialbites.ca) will not risk for us to completely block trips abroad, but, unfortunately, it will significantly undermine the opportunities for recreation abroad for the mass segment. Many tour operators will now reconsider their winter programs, especially regarding air transport, which is priced in foreign currency.

28 June Russian government developed a bill in which tour operators will have the opportunity to not pay value added tax (VAT) for 4.5 years until 2027. It is assumed that thanks to this innovation, touristic trips around the country will become much cheaper.
