The newspaper Vedomosti, citing the Russian Ministry of Finance, reported that in 2022, as part of the progressive scale of taxation, the wages received from wealthy Russians amounted to 1.013 trillion rubles.
It was noted that the indicators for 2022 increased compared to the previous year, after which the wages amounted to 636 billion rubles.
A progressive scale of taxation was proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2020 – personal income tax for wealthy Russians (above 5 million rubles annual income) is 15% – and only income above 5 million rubles falls below this percentage and everything else falls 13% below the general tax level.
1.013 trillion rubles went to the consolidated budget, and 132 billion rubles to the federal budget. According to the Ministry of Finance, this figure is 70% above the planned income level on a staggered scale.
The Ministry of Finance believes that about 60% of the increase in income is related to the increase in personal income tax on dividends on the backdrop of higher payments.
Previously in the State Duma suggested replenish the budget at the expense of wealthy Muscovites.
Formerly, the authorities approved Thanks to the law, it is planned to replenish the budget with 300 billion rubles.
