The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board, after completing the initial review of the financial aid program for Ukraine, approved the immediate transfer of $890 million to Kiev, according to the news on the fund’s official website.
The IMF report highlights that the mandate to immediately transfer the amount of SDR 663.9 million (special drawing rights or approximately $890 million) has been secured following the completion of the initial review.
The organization also emphasized that Ukraine’s previously increased forecast for 2023 GDP growth will be at 1-3%.
Prior to that, Gavin Gray, head of the International Monetary Fund’s mission to Ukraine, said the board could approve a $900 million tranche of financial aid to Ukraine in the coming weeks.
