Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Liberal Democratic Party Boris Chernyshov proposed increasing the personal income tax rate to 20% for “wealthy Muscovites” with an income of more than 35 million rubles per year. It has been reported DEA News.

According to the agency, Chernyshov sent a corresponding letter to the head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS), Daniil Yegorov.

Such a step should be taken to “improve social justice,” Chernyshov said.

“Those who earn more than 25 million rubles per year, that is, more than 2 million per month, must pay personal income tax at the rate of 20%. It would be cunning not to admit that the new rates will mainly affect the wealthy residents of Moscow, ”the deputy said.

He added that the money will go towards infrastructure development, landscaping, parks and new playgrounds. At the same time, 2% should be directed to helping seriously ill children through the “Circle of Kindness” fund, and 3% to the development programs of surrounding municipalities.
