Thus, 17 new facilities were commissioned in 2022, including gas injection to the reservoir, electricity generation, gas treatment and utilization facilities. The program to improve the rational use of the relevant petroleum gas is implemented in all regions where the company is located and contributes to the widespread use of innovative, energy-saving, “green” technologies in production processes.
Rosneft has also made significant progress in tackling greenhouse gas emissions. The company continues to implement technology for the detection of methane emissions using unmanned aerial vehicles and ground monitoring equipment.
The company states that the work on the implementation of the Rosneft 2030: Reliable Energy and Global Energy Transition strategy has also resulted in an improvement in key environmental indicators in 2022 compared to the previous year.
In 2022, Rosneft reduced the absolute volume of greenhouse gas emissions by 11% compared to 2020.
In addition, the production and retail sales of Euro-6 and Pulsar, the high-tech fuels with improved environmental performance, were expanded.
