Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said that since February last year, Kiev has received more than $22 billion in financial aid from the World Bank. The information was published on the ministry’s Telegram channel.

It is understood from the post that Marchenko met with Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of World Bank Operations, and Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, during his working visit to Washington. The meeting discussed the implementation of projects for cooperation and rapid improvement in mobilizing resources for budgetary needs.

“Since February 24, 2022, the World Bank has mobilized $34 billion in financial resources to support Ukraine. More than $22 billion of this amount has already been provided to Ukraine,” the minister said.

Marchenko thanked the Bank for financial assistance and added that this money plays an important role in providing priority social expenditures.
