Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed the law approving an intergovernmental agreement with Russia on navigation on inland waterways. This information was published on the National Legal Internet Portal, writes TASS.

According to the document adopted and approved by both chambers of the Belarusian parliament, ships with the flag of Belarus and Russia will be able to transit between and from ports located in the internal waters of both countries to third country ports. states and back. In addition, the use of inland waterways for passage is permitted.

Cabotage transport of goods and passengers on ships of one country and inland waterways of another country will only be permitted with the approval of the relevant intergovernmental commission. The signatory parties undertake to take all necessary measures to speed up and simplify border, customs, sanitary and other formalities.

The agreement also requires each party to provide the other with the same conditions as its own vessels for access to ports, use of anchorages and access to any services. The amount of navigation, port and other fees and charges are determined in a similar way.

The Agreement shall enter into force 30 days from the date of receipt of the last written notification regarding the application of relevant local procedures.
