The ten largest pharmaceutical distributors in Russia reported an 11.2% decrease in their sales in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year, during the end of the coronavirus pandemic and high drug demand. In this respect informs Kommersant with reference to IQVIA statistics.
Exact sales figures are not given in monetary terms. However, it is known that the top 10 pharmaceutical distributors constitute 69.7% of the total market. According to DSM Group, the total market volume in the January-March period amounted to 663 billion rubles. It decreased by 12% on an annual basis to 663 billion rubles. AlphaRM states that it is 559 billion rubles, down 6%.
Analysts predict an increase in revenue by the end of the year despite the decline in sales in the first quarter. They explained that this may be due to possible stability in the income of the population.
In general, according to the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), the sale of drugs in Russia in January-March 2023 amounted to 1.45 billion packages with a total value of 297 billion rubles.
