Ukrainian energy company Ukrenergo has announced that it has changed the way hydroelectric power plants operate to reduce the flood area in the Kiev-controlled part of the Kherson region. This is reported by the company’s Telegram channel.

The company said that together with Ukrhidroenergo, they are working on possible scenarios for further operation of the energy system after the collapse of Kakhovskaya HEPP.

“The way hydroelectric power plants operate is being changed to reduce the volume of water entering the Kakhovka reservoir to reduce overflow,” the report says.

Former chairman of the Crimean State Council Vladimir Konstantinov declarationThe possible shallowing of the North Crimean Canal will not become critical for Crimea.

According to Konstantinov, the measures taken earlier make it possible to supply the Crimean reservoirs with water from underground reservoirs. Konstantinov also said that Kiev has blown up its hydroelectric dam, thereby rejecting the southern regions that could turn into swamps.
