The European Commission has launched an investigation into the unauthorized supply of Chinese biofuels to the European Union in connection with a complaint from Germany. These release reports Reuters.

At the same time, an unnamed EU member stressed that fuel imported from China was probably mistakenly labeled as more profitable.

The corresponding notification came from Germany, the largest importer of biofuels in the EU.

“The commission will have to check whether the criteria for sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions reduction are met,” the agency cites a comment from the union representative.

Now the European Commission is preparing to strengthen control over the biofuels trade with the help of a database of supply chains.

Previously, Boeing CEO David Calhoun said that biofuels will never will not be equal at the price of conventional fuel.
