Kazakhstan announces readiness to increase oil supplies to Germany through Druzhba

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed increasing oil supplies to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. In this respect informs TASS.

“Kazakhstan started to transport oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. At the Central Asia-European Union summit, Tokayev said that since the beginning of this year, deliveries of 90 thousand tons have been realized.

Tokayev noted that the authorities of the republic have enough potential to increase the volume of oil supply to 1.2 million tons per year and increase it in the future.

In the first quarter of 2023, Kazakhstan increased its oil supply to EU countries, reported May 30 Russian service of The Moscow Times, citing Reuters. As stated in the publication, fuel supplies to the EU in January-March accounted for 71% of Kazakhstan’s total fuel exports. It was 65 percent in the first quarter of 2022. Following the embargo imposed by the European Union on December 5 last year, fuel from Kazakhstan has become one of the options for oil refineries in Europe to replace raw materials from Russia.
