The press service of Renaissance Insurance company told socialbites.ca that media reports of large amounts of customer data leaking into the network were false.
“The website of Rönesans Insurance has been subjected to a hacker attack and an attempted attack on the eOSAGO service, which is one of the sections of the website. <..>“Potentially, the issue could affect up to 2% of the company’s customer base.”
It is noted that the company first encountered a targeted attack by skilled hackers.
“We are confident that hackers do not access the passwords, payment and passport data of the company’s customers,” said Rönesans, emphasizing that customers do not have to change the password to access their personal accounts if it has not been compromised.
June 2 telegraph channel “Information Leaks” published a message stating that “Rönesans Insurance” “leaked” 737.7 thousand lines of customer data, including 633 thousand unique e-mail addresses, 315 thousand phone numbers and hashed passwords.
