Ukraine’s National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NKREKU) has proposed to increase electricity prices for businesses from 1 July. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing its own source.

“NEURC has decided to cancel current marginal electricity prices (“price ceilings”) for businesses from 1 July,” the material says.

According to the source, the current “price ceilings” will expire on June 30, and new ones will be introduced in July, which will be more expensive than the existing ones.

According to the publication, the cost of selling electricity to a business during the hours of minimum load is now limited to 2 thousand hryvnia / MWh ($ 54), during peak hours – 4 thousand hryvnia / MWh ($ 108).

Formerly Ukrainian editor NKREKU discussed to the government of the country with a proposal to double the electricity tariffs for all Ukrainians and not to share the cost according to the level of consumption. The Ministry of Energy noted that if prices are not increased, it will be difficult to restore infrastructure facilities and even prepare for the coming winter.
